Internships and higher learning

The District has made it a practice to provide internships for high school and college students. These students assist with water quality monitoring, water analysis, and other activities. Several of these students have gone on in careers that relate directly to their watershed experience.

Each year the Pelican River Watershed District hosts College-age interns pursuing studies in the natural sciences in hands-on, paid internships while receiving college credit.

Students from Bemidji State University, Minnesota State University Moorhead,  North Dakota State University, Concordia College, and others have gained valuable hands on experience and provided the district with much needed assistance through the busy summer months.
