Project Purpose
In 2024, the District partnered with Minnesota State University, Mankato to evaluate the effectiveness of a new herbicide to treat Curly-Leafed Pondweed, Potamogeton crispus (CLP), in area lakes.
Area lakes will be treated with Flumioxazin at various concentrations in the summers of 2024 and 2025. Students from MSU Mankato will monitor and report on the growth of CLP and native plants throughout the study and furnish their results to PRWD. The District is hopeful that this study will give us a new and better tool in the fight against Aquatic Invasive Species in our lakes.
